Don Engler (Managing Director)

Don has more than 37 years experience in the steel detailing, fabricating and erection business. He has a BS in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Arizona and California. He serves on the Code of Standard Practice committee for the American Institute of Steel Construction.
Don is responsible for the worldwide operations of the company and has been with BDS for 8 years.

Tanya Marsh (Chief Financial Officer)

Tanya has a Bachelor of Business and is a CPA with over 10yrs experience. She has previously worked with engineering, quantity surveying and aviation businesses and in public practice. Tanya has recently joined BDS and is responsible for the ensuring the financial integrity of the business globally.

Geoff Graham (General Manager Estimating)

Geoff first commenced work at BDS in 1966 as a Shop Detail draftsman and departed in 1968 to gain experience in the consulting engineering field. He rejoined BDS in 1973 and has now been with BDS for 35 years.
Geoff is located in our Brisbane Head Office and in charge of estimating for projects in all our world markets.

Brad Backer (General Manager, AU & NZ)

Brad is a qualified boilermaker and has an advanced trade certificates in boiler making and welding. He has over 30 years experience as a shop detailer and has been with BDS since 1978.
He is responsible for the operations of our two largest production offices in Brisbane and Auckland.

Ian Belcher (Manager, UK)

Ian has a HNC in Civil Engineering and is a draftsman with over 24 years experience in the detailing and fabricating industry in the UK. He has worked in both the UK and the Australian markets on both the shop floor and in site supervisory roles.

Vaughan McClear (General Manager, Asia)

Vaughan joined BDS as a cadet in 1985 and, other than working in the UK experiencing other engineering companies, has been with BDS ever since. He is the General Manager for Asia and responsible for our Thailand and Indian offices, having worked in Thailand for more than 9 years. He has also worked at various times in the BDS Canadian and US offices.

Kerry Lindemann (Manager, International)

Kerry began detailing as a cadet with BDS in January 1979. Since completing his cadetship and an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering, Kerry has filled many roles at BDS including CAD development and project management and has gained close to 30 years experience in the steel construction industry. He is currently based in our Nottingham office and has responsibility for marketing and business development in the UK.

Cedric Easthorpe (Manager, NZ)

Cedric is in charge of the Company's New Zealand operation. He is a qualified boilermaker and has a trade diploma in Plating and Structural Steelwork. He has 28 years draughting experience which includes the ship building, commercial and industrial structural steel, and offshore industries. He joined BDS as a Senior Detailer in April 1997, after migrating there from South Africa and has been with the company ever since.

Peter Harper (Senior Project Manager)

Peter joined BDS as a cadet draftsperson in 1978. After completing his cadetship he left BDS to work with a large steel fabricator followed by an overseas assignment managing a detailing company in Singapore. He rejoined the BDS Brisbane office in 1988.
Peter has a Diploma in Engineering and is our resident US specification and connection specialist.

Cameron Elms (Senior Project Manager)

Cameron commenced work with BDS in 1974 as a trainee draftsman and left in 1978 for 2 yrs to gain experience with consulting engineers. He rejoined with BDS in 1980 and now has been with BDS for 27 yrs. As well as his day to day responsibilities as a senior project detailer/checker/coordinator he is responsible for the Training of Cadets in the Company.
He has a Certificate in Civil Engineering.

Francis Serapio (Manager, Canada)

Francis is in charge of our Canadian operations. He has more than 24 years experience in the steel detailing industry and 12 years experience of management. He joined BDS in 2000.
Francis has a BS in Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Philippines.

Maria Papaie (Manager, US)

Maria is in charge of our Phoenix, Arizona office and has a Master Degree in Architecture & Urban Design and has practiced 10 years in the Architectural Field on designing a wide variety of projects as well as working on City Master Plans.
She changed her field of expertise in 1995 to Steel Detailing by acquiring skills in 3D modeling with Tekla Structure and connection Design Degree from CISC in Canada. She has 23 years combined experience in design and detailing.
She joined BDS in summer of 2000 and has been the US Detailing Operation Manager since October of 2001.

Anbuselvam. T (General Manager, India)

Anbu is a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Structural Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Marketing. He has over 20 years experience in the field of member design, connection design and detailing. His experience as a Structural Designer has earned him a reputation with high rise structures.
Anbu is a Registered Member of the “Indian Institute of Engineers” and the ”Indian Society of Structural Engineers”.
Anbu has recently joined BDS and is in charge of our Chennai, India office.
